time to workout...

i've been procrastinating alot since the new year and it's time to get my butt into gear!!!!

i have wanted to lose weight for a while now, but what better reason than......

MY SISTER'S GETTING MARRIED!!!! and the new year has started =]

but more importantly i want to look good for pictures in the wedding

and feel better about myself!

starting monday i am hopping on that health train that has almost left me in the dust. any suggestions would be helpful...i'm thinking of going the p90x route and just laying off the sweets and fried food first to ease my way into this!

rainy days wash my worries away......

i woke up this morning...like most mornings, tired. i usually sleep through my alarm when i don't have an appointment or work to be to. this morning was a little different, chelsea and i had an "appointment" with each other to do our hair! i planned on 9/930 the night before...well being the MORNING PERSON i am...i woke up at 9! i desperatly needed a shower, so i knew i was late. chelsea is such a sweet person...and after calling her to push our appointment back i hurridly jumped in the shower with my eyes barely open. this is similar to what i looked like this morning...

after my quick rinse in the shower i proceeded with the rest of my morning....make-up, hair in a ponytail(remember i was getting it done), scrambling to write rent checks, utility checks, and get food for lunch/dinner at the salon. during the midst of all this i filled up my water bottle and took a quick drink...."POP!" it splashes me in the face and shirt!! grrrr.....

i quickly drop rent off, and head to the salon. after getting there i come to find that it isn't only a rough morning for me, but also for my fellow stylists! i guess it was just in the air...i dislike those days ALOT...cause there's no one to help get me out the funk...LOL

as the day goes on we complain about...some...$, others....family, few...clients....etc. u get the point! i'm am leaving to reno tomorrow at 7:30 on a VERY low budget...basically no $! so i was hoping to get at least one client to cushion that budget, but i am 4th on the walk-in list?!?? how will i ever get a client? well as we are finishing up chelsea's hair....a hurricane comes thru vegas! yeah u heard me right, a hurricane! haha! first cloudy....then windy...then MORE wind...next rain....LOTS and LOTS of beautiful rain!!! but it was like the earth was crying my tears of frustration! i know that's dramatic, but it wasn't just the $ situation buggin me...other stuff too!

in the middle of this "hurricane" we go outside to check it out! u know us vegas people act so amazed by rain...but i can't help it, I LOVE IT! i got a text from a client that wanted to make an appointment!!!! hallelujah....there's my $$$....so we book an appt for later that evening...and soon the sun comes out and the rain has stopped...leaving that sweet, fresh smell behind. oh how i love that smell.

after finishing chelsea's hair i got a walk in!! a shampoo/blow dry...but a still, a walk in! and then i booked another appt for later next week after that too! it was like my appt prayers were answered...LOL

once i finished my last client....i walked out to my car and saw the sky similar to this....

it was absolutely beauitful! it made me think that maybe my day wasn't so bad and the rain did wash my worries away. it left me feeling happy and content with the day! more like this....

rather than a sleepy, green monster.....

i hiked red rock's ice box canyon last saturday, with my friends lisa and brad! i was really proud of myself...it was, in total, a 5 mile hike! i didn't think i was gonna make it....but i did and now i can't wait to go back again!

also, over labor day weekend, i am going to reno to FINALLY visit my best friend dani! she's lived there for over 6 years and i haven't made it up there to visit...i'm a bad friend, i know. i can't wait, we already have sooo many exciting ideas for the weekend....i hope we have enough time to fit it all in. watch out reno here i come!!!! LOL

salon shopping

so since saturday i had been a stressed out mess!!!

we found out that limelight will be closing it's doors on saturday march 28th.

sooo sad....i loved all the people there and it was so stress/drama free!

after taking it in all day on saturday and sunday, i finally realized that

"everything's gonna be alright"

it was hard for me to keep retelling the story to people so i waited until monday to start telling friends, and of course i let my family know that day. well after shopping around about 5 different salons in the area...chelsea and i agreed on "belle cheveux"

i think we are both REALLY excited, but also nervous to get to know new people

and find out how our clientele will continue to grow!

so cross your fingers for us, and wish us luck! our first week will be starting on the 30th!

birthday celebrations!

on sunday we had a bbq at the park for brandy's birthday and we just hung out and enjoyed amazing weather and awesome friends!

lorraine grilled up some mean carne asada...in addition to the chicken, burgers, and hot dogs we had! and i made brandy a lil b-day cake, but i had to leave early cuz chili's crashed my party...and i worked my booty off the rest of the nite. (hence the reason i am wearing a really cool chili's shirt out in public at a b-day party!)

at the beginning of the month, we celebrated shauna's birthday at cheescake factory! it was fun to catch up with the

girls and have a relaxing nite off!

our waiter was a lil goofy, but he entertained us. and we went with the caramel de leche cheesecake for shauna's "cake"!

valentine's day

for valentine's day i made these cute cupcake boxes for my family! they were fun to make and i found the boxes @ albertson's on sale for $2 each! everyone loved them, and i hope they tasted as good as they looked! it was red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting...from none other than betty crocker! ;o)

as for 2009, it has been a BUSY year already!

me and two of my best girl friends rang in the new year at red rock! we had a blast hanging out and we even ran into two of the ladies from the real housewives of orange county, vikki and tamara, @ cherry! so i asked them to take a pic with us. they were friendly and we all talked for a minute, but then we made our way to the dance floor! **happy 2009**

i went back to csn part-time at the end of january. i'm hoping to get my associate's in small business management! maybe later i will try for a bachelor's, but for now i am thinking baby steps!

things have started picking up at the salon and i'm getting some new clientele which is amazing, but also keeps me longing for more sleep!!! and i am STILL serving 3 sometimes 4 days a week @ chili's too! i will probably hang on to this job a lil while longer cuz the health benefits and extra income. i'm not able to survive off of only the salon yet! about a month ago chili's closed 4 locations in vegas, and i was shocked and really upset for those who had lost their jobs. i know that i need to really be thankful to still be working! so between the two jobs and school i've pretty much "maxed" out all my time!

on feb. 3rd my sister, kristy, had her second lil one! we welcomed nixon anthony into the world @ 2:13 a.m.

he is such a handsome lil bug and i love him to pieces!

kenzie has been a awesome big sis, but also seems to be a lil upset to have to share the limelight with him too!
